Sprinklers in Fields of Mistria are Water Sprite Statues — craftable automation items that water crops in a ring around them in exchange for Essence. You unlock them in the mid-game through Woodcrafting, and they remove the most tedious daily chore in the farming loop: manually watering every tile. They are a solid investment for any farm big enough that watering eats your morning energy.

How Sprinklers Work

Once placed, a Water Sprite Statue waters every crop within a 2-tile radius of it every morning, as long as it holds Essence. You charge a statue by applying an Essence Stone, and each day it spends a little of that Essence to do its job. On inclement and heavy inclement weather days — rain or storms — the statues water for free and do not consume Essence, which is a nice bonus. If you break a statue, the unused Essence is refunded in Essence Stones based on the remaining charges, so you can reposition your automation without wasting the fuel you put in.

The Standard and Large Water Sprite Statues

There are two practical tiers. The standard Water Sprite Statue covers a 2-tile radius and comes in five visual variants that are functionally identical, while the Large Water Sprite Statue covers a 3-tile radius and comes in three variants. The extra tile of reach on the Large version matters a lot in practice, because it roughly doubles how many crops one statue can look after, even though exact per-tier differences beyond radius are 待确认. How to Unlock and Craft Them

The Large version unlocks later through the “Big Water Sprites” Woodcrafting skill perk at level 30 and needs 15 Refined Stone, 75 Essence and three of a rarer ingredient like Breath of Flame, Lava Chestnuts or Flame Pepper. Since Essence and Refined Stone come from the mines, most players only start producing statues after regular mining trips, and the two systems quickly become linked.

Fitting Sprinklers Into Your Layout

Sprinklers reward fields built in blocks. Because the radius is measured in tiles, a statue in the middle of a 5x5 block covers the ring around it, which works perfectly in a small field and pairs well with the greenhouse interior. In your farm layout, plan fields as repeated sprinkler-sized blocks so you can scale up without breaking your grid. Keep paths open so you can still reach every crop to harvest and replant, and remember that a statue only helps while it holds Essence, so leave an easy route to refill it.

Sprinkler Math for Your Fields

A 2-tile radius statue covers a 5x5 block of soil when placed in the center, which is a neat, repeatable unit for planning fields. Stringing statues along a field means you can design an entire grid of 5x5 blocks and cover each one with a single statue. The Large version’s 3-tile reach covers a bigger footprint, so it suits the greenhouse and the sprawling late-game fields where you want fewer objects cluttering the ground. Measure your planned field against these footprints before you buy, because a statue is easier to place correctly the first time than to rearrange later.

Are Sprinklers Worth It?

Yes, for most players — they convert the time you used to spend watering into time for mining, foraging or socializing, and a statue pays for itself in reclaimed time within a season. The catch is cost: they need Essence to run and are gated behind mid-game Woodcrafting, so they arrive after you already have a field that needs them. Some players find the per-tile cost steep for very large farms and argue the radius could be bigger, and there is active community discussion about balancing them.
